Live at The Attic Bar Glasgow CANCLED
2010.03.03 12:28:00
Hi folks just got a message from the promoter for this one to say the gig has been cancled. All the other bands on the bill have pulled out at the last minute so they decided to cancel the whole night! Sorry this is short notice but just heard 5 minutes ago. We do have some more dates lined up and will have them on the site soon.

Cheers

Playing Our Tunes!
2010.02.08 11:04:13
The last 10 days or so have been great! Tom and I played about six acoustic gigs, had a few good nights out and I’ve had at least three bad hangovers (not so good). We played a session for The Daily Record to put on their website which was fun and done a quick interview with John Dingwall. Tom also had an interview with Billy Sloan to talk about ‘Flying to The Ground’ for the Sunday Mail. And to top it all off we’ve had another brilliant review.
The gigs were all in Glasgow, starting with Glasgow Uni and finishing last night in the Common Rooms on Byres Road. A big thanks to everyone who came to the gigs all of which were great fun to play but if I had to pick a favourite it would be the one in the Liquid Ship on Thursday. It’s a cosy little venue on Great Western Road with a really nice vibe. Bands play downstairs which is a bit like a living room with a bar, has a fire in the corner and is lit by candles. It’s friendly and perfect for a very up close and personal acoustic gig. We also played a drunken spur of the moment gig in Box which is always fun.
I’m off to get ready to go to the studio now. I’m already running late, meant to be there in half an hour!
Speak soon, cheers

Glasgow Acoustic Sessions
2010.01.27 11:42:21
It’s only a few weeks now to the release of our second single ‘Flying to The Ground’ and so far all the reviews we’ve had have been really good so hopefully that’ll continue up to and after the release on the 22nd February (I’m sure it will, personally I think it’s a great song). You can check out the news section for the full reviews. The past few weeks we’ve been working on new songs and will be trying some of them out for the first time alongside favourites like ‘These Days’ and ‘Flying to The Ground’ at a series of acoustic sessions we’re playing in Glasgow starting this Friday at Deep 6 Glasgow Uni Union, so if you want to be one of the first to hear them check out upcoming gigs on our website and come along to one of the shows over the next week or so. Off to get some rehearsal time in now. Speak soon, Ants

Tip For The Top
2010.01.12 15:09:16

In the past week ‘Flying to The Ground’ has been play listed on Jim Gellatly’s New Music Podcast, The People newspaper claimed we will be huge this year in their Tip For The Top, which is great and I just received an email as I’m typing to say ‘Flying’ has also been play listed by Billy Sloan on his Sunday night show on Clyde 1. (First play will be this Sunday).

On the music side we have another new song we’re working on called ‘Long Road’ which I really like. Tom sent me what he’s done so far and I’m hoping to get some time today to work on a baseline for it. New songs are flying out at the moment – think we’ll need to get back in to the studio soon!

As for gigs keep an eye on the website, there will be some dates coming soon in the lead up to our single launch in February. I can’t wait to start playing a few gigs again so I’m as keen as anyone to see the dates.

See ya soon

Happy New Year
2010.01.05 17:19:19

Happy New Year!!! It's been a nice to have some time to spend with my family over the past couple weeks. I spent Christmas Day at my mum n dads, Hogmanay at my sisters and the rest of the time chilling out at home eating and drinking a lot. I got Assassins Creed II at Christmas and have been a bit addicted to it, sitting up half the night most nights then playing it in my sleep so my eyes have been pretty bloodshot. Completed it a couple of days ago so just about back to normal now.

Tom and I did get together to play some tunes and have a jam with some more new stuff over the holidays but I can't remember too much of what we done – too much wine!!! But I'm sure it was good and it'll come back to me when I start playing again (hopefully).

Hope everyone had a good holiday and 2010 is a great year for you.

All the best

Fun in London
2009.12.16 13:53:01
I just arrived home last night after a while in London, mainly spent in the studio writing with Tom although we  did find time to go out for a few beers.

On Friday we had a meeting in central London then headed to Covent Garden for a few pints. We ended up in Punch & Judy watching a street performer from the balcony. The guys act was juggling different things with him impressively juggling a chainsaw at the end but he was  really, really funny - would be great at stand up comedy! So if u see a crazy guy in Covent Garden with chain saw he's well worth hanging around to watch. The rest of the weekend was spent in the studio working on new songs, mainly one called Sleep which we recorded a quick demo of and is going to be a peach.

On Monday we finished in the studio a bit earlier than normal to go to On The Rocks at the Natural History Museum but still managed to arrive pretty late. We just caught the end of the last act which was Jamie Affro from XFactor and had a few beers before heading for the Tube. On the way home we met the most random drunk guy you could ever meet. As soon as he heard we were Scottish he staggered over then spent the rest of the journey trying to swear in a  Scottish accent and telling Tom how handsome he was! Think everyone on the train was glad he latched on to us and not them.

Over the next week or so we plan to finish another couple of songs we've been working on before having a bit of a break for Christmas and then it'll be all go for the single release in February.

Busy behind The scenes
2009.11.26 13:38:51

You may or may not be glad to know there are no rants or soap boxes involved in this blog! (only joking Tom). I'm now a year older than when I last blogged and it's been a good couple of weeks. As you know we've been busy working on some new material (and playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox) which is starting to take shape nicely, so we will have some new songs very soon!!!

While we've been working on the music there's been a lot going on behind the scenes with our next single release not too far away. Flying to The Ground is out in February 2010 and although there are still a few months to go there's already a lot of work been put in to it with loads more still to do. Tom and I are really happy with the song, we both love it and are getting excited about the the release. We're gearing up for a busy time promoting the single and looking forward to getting back out gigging. It's not really been that long since we last played but it feels like ages...... So for us, the sooner the better.

Speak to you soon

New Songs On The Way!
2009.11.05 00:00:00
The photoshoot Tom mentioned in his blog last week didn't quite go a as planned!!! It was supposed to take place last Tuesday but we had to cancel at the last minute. It's probably not a bad thing that we had to reschedule cos it was chucking it down in London that day and I've already got a bit of a cold. For anyone who wandered about Soho in the rain SORRY!!! The shoot will now take place (hopefully on a dry day) at the beginning of December.

We've got this weekend off then we're in the studio at the beginning of the week to spend some time working on new material before going back to Konk for a couple of days to finish off some recording. We've got some new stuff that's going to sound great. Tom just emailed me a short demo this morning which I love so I'm off to muck about with some ideas on the bass.

Speak soon

Back In Glasgow
2009.10.20 08:25:42
The past month or two we've mainly been busy working & gigging in London. There's not been as much time as we would have liked to work on new material or do much of anything else so this is my first blog for a few weeks. Don't know where the days go! Tom's also been to Kiev for a gig and H was in New York for a week so it was nice to have a gig back in Glasgow.

We played at a charity gig in Leicester Square Theater on Thursday then headed for Glasgow to play King Tuts Wha Wha Hut on Friday night. As always at King Tuts the sound was great, the crowd even better and it was a another brilliant night so thanks to everyone who came along.

I'll be spending this week in Scotland with our next gig, again in Glasgow, at the Captains Rest on Sunday but Tom and H are already back in London to attend Reveal magazines birthday bash and then have a couple of days in Konk Studio putting the finishing touches to our next single before heading back north at the weekend.

Will catch up again soon.
Cheers

Return to the Regal Room
2009.09.16 14:20:46

Last weeks gig in the Regal Room, Hammersmith went down a storm. It's only the second time we've played this venue and I love it already. The first time we played we were squeazed in at the last minute but this time we had the headline slot. There were four acts on the bill  including us (a great thing about the Regal Room is that the acts are always really good). We played  two short acoustic sets. (It's kind of like the Jools Holland Show the way it works). The first one included our single "These Days" followed by " Devious Girl" and then "Flying to The Ground" which I love to play. In the second half of the night we started with "Something I said" which is still number one in the Oswalds Fan Chart, then "Bangin" and finished with "Home". All in it was a great night and brilliant fun!

There's no rest for the wicked as they say so the following morning we headed back to Scotland for more Radio promo at Northsound 1 in Aberdeed where we did an interview and acoustic session which is always good. Next up are our gigs at the Fluid Live Lounge in St Helens on Saturday and The Fly in Oxford St, London on Wednesday both of which are fully plugged in electric gigs. We've not played either venue before and we're looking forward to it.

We'll let you know how we get on.

Cheers
Ants
